KNITWEAR CARE GUIDE

KNITWEAR CARE GUIDE

With proper care your knitwear will retain its shape, softness and quality for many seasons.

GENERAL CARE

• Avoid washing knitwear unnecessarily. Frequent washing may cause distortion and pilling.
• Often, simply airing the garment outside overnight in fresh and misty air is enough to refresh it.
• Always store knitwear folded or rolled. Hanging may cause the garment to lose its shape.

HAND WASHING (RECOMMENDED)

Hand washing is the gentlest and most recommended method for caring for knitwear.
• Use a DELICATE detergent specifically designed for wool (for example: Frosch, PearlWoll or similar).
• Fill a sink or a bowl with cold or slightly warm water and add the special delicate detergent.
• Submerge the knitwear and let it soak for 10–20 minutes.
• Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• Gently press the garment against the sink/bowl to remove excess water
• Never wring or twist knitwear as this may damage its shape, fibres and stitches.

DRYING

• Lay a clean towel on a horizontal surface.
• Place the knitwear flat on the towel and roll them together.
• Gently press to absorb excess moisture.
• Unroll, carefully reshape the garment on another dry towel or fleece blanket and leave it to air dry on a flat surface.
• Avoid direct heat sources such as radiators or sunlight, as heat may cause shrinking or
misshaping.

MACHINE WASHING

Some modern washing machines offer wool or delicate programmes suitable for knitwear.
• Always select a wool or delicate cycle.
• Ensure the temperature does not exceed 30°C, preferably, set it to 0 degrees.
• Use only special wool or delicate detergents.
• Do not use washing powder or fabric softener as these may damage wool fibres and puffyness.
Tumble drying is generally not recommended. Even if your drying machine offers a wool drying programme, results may vary depending on the garment and machine.
